After a long off-season, the NBA is finally back, and the 2005-06 season is just days away. With many leagues holding their drafts this weekend, let’s take a look at the latest slow mock draft, in which nine rounds have been completed. Twelve veteran fantasy buffs are vying to put together the best squads, and the results are interesting indeed. Of particular interest are a number of changes between this draft and the last mock. Quite a bit has happened on and off the courts since August… (Note that the draft began before Amare Stoudemire’s knee injury came to light.)
As with any mock draft, the drafters’ preferences and team needs obviously play a role in their respective choices, and a player’s rank might therefore vary from what you might expect from a cheat sheet compiled outside of actual draft conditions.
