I’m sure many of you know we have a “Brevin Knight Fan club” here at the Cafe. It’s made up of Cafe members who love Knight’s under-appreciated fantasy contributions. And indeed, he fills it up in the assists and steals category and gets overlooked much of the time in drafts and on waiver wires.
With Sam Cassell bought out and likely joining the Celtics, Knight is the starting point guard for the Clippers. A journeyman of eight different teams and a veteran of 14 NBA seasons, Knight knows what it takes to stay on the floor. His job is to be a playmaker and get the ball to the scorers. That translates very well for us needy fantasy owners looking for the classical point guard stats.
Knight has always been very solid in those two categories averaging 6.6 assists and 1.8 steals for his career. In the ‘04-’05 season, he dished out 9.0 assists per game, good for second in the league right behind Steve Nash.
So if you need some help in assists and steals to aid your playoff push, check out Brevin Knight.
