Sleeper Watch

By Adam Laforet

Time to ride the Red Rocket, kiddies. Some of you might have noticed Matt Bonner’s sneaky-good lines lately, but in case you missed it, he’s this week’s sleeper.

Matt Bonner has very quietly been on a mini-tear for the Spurs lately. Over the past week, Bonner has been averaging 11.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and close to a block and a steal per contest. He’s also leading the league in 3 point percentage with .493% from behind the arc. San Antonio has a very Bonner-friendly week, starting tonight against Sacramento and following up with Minnesota, Phoenix and Memphis. A soft schedule should mean more rest for the Spurs’ big three and more minutes for Bonner. He should contribute well across the board and should be a very solid source of three pointers this week (especially for a PF/C).

If Bonner has already been scooped up in your league, Marco Belinelli remains a solid waiver add this week. You could also look to mine the Raptors roster since they have a fairly soft four game week as well.
