Worst Sports Personality

I still don't understand how either of these guys have made it. I've never heard more garbage in my life from both...

Maybe I'm the minority, but I find Simmons pretty entertaining. I'll look elsewhere for sheer fact, or especially for breaking news, but Simmons does a great job with OP-Ed pieces.

I think the sports knowledge is what's weird to me about Simmons. He just doesn't seem realistic ever. And you can tell that everyone who works with Bill just laughs at his outrageous claims. I heard him say that Houston would trade Omer Asik a few weeks back. And everyone was like, WTF.

Bill Simmons also mentioned that he thought the Thunder would have a 15+ win streak this season. Just keep throwing crap and hope some of it sticks...

I know a lot of people find Simmons to be funny, but I don't think he is. I watch a lot of PTI on ESPN and sometimes he fills in for Tony or Mike. He doesn't have the voice to be on TV. I don't know why they keep going back to him.

My main problem with Simmons is the sheer volume of his pieces. I think there is great value in stating your things concisely without too many asides or without belaboring the point. I also cannot stand his constant pop culture references and his attempts to fit square pegs into round holes in order to fabricate an analogy to the latest movie or television show.

While I dislike both, I hate Reilly. :-P

Simmons at least talks about/tweets interesting trade proposals. ;-)

Simmons never advertised himself as being the realistic trade business. At best he's in the intersting trade business (which suits his content needs) He's a funny guy with great contacts that knows enough about a lot of different sports write informative content. He's not a specialist though, and I don't know why anyone expects him to be. He's a great writer too, and he gives good interview. I really don't know why anyone would find him annoying unless they have unrealistic expectations.

100% agreed on the volume, that drives me up a wall. I actually do enjoy some of his work, but I find myself skimming through his articles a lot.
