Executive Committee: Rounders Block, samo
Settings:
1.1 All leagues are to use standard 9 category settings (FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO) and standard Yahoo positions (PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN).
1.2 Rotisserie leagues will have standard maximum games per position limits (10 positions x 82 games = 820 (+2) maximum games). No maximum player acquisitions in rotisserie format.
1.3 H2H leagues will have a limit of 50 (maximum) player acquisitions per season. There will be a limit of 10 add/drops for any given week enforced by the commissioner to avoid excessive churning. Any blatant violation will result in your team getting locked.
1.4 2 day waivers.
1.5 (A) Trades not involving the commisioner will be subject to a 3 day trade rejection time. Trades can be vetoed by a vote from 5 of the remaining 10 league managers by either PM or e-mail during the first 2 days of the trade review period. If the commissioner receives 5 or more PM's or e-mails, the trade will be vetoed on the 3rd day. The commissioner may veto a trade that is, in the commissioner's judgment, grossly unfair (a trade that will upset the competitive balance of the league) at any time during this 3 day period, but will abstain otherwise.
1.5 (B) Trades involving the commissioner will be subject to a 3 day trade rejection time. Such trades can be vetoed by a public vote from 5 of the remaining 10 league managers. Public votes will be made on the league's Yahoo Fantasy Sports NBA homepage forum, and must include the reasoning for the veto. If 5 or more public vetoes are posted, the trade will be vetoed on the 3rd day by the commissioner.
1.6 No maximum trades and no trade deadline in either format. Trades made after March 2 will be subject to closer review and veto by the league commissioner if determined to be made for non-competitive reasons.
1.7 Each league will have a pre-season draft and the managers will only retain the roster for one season. This is not a dynasty or a keeper. Every year we draft a new roster.
1.8a Draft pick positions are final. There will be no trading of entire pick sets before the draft in both live and messageboard formats. Trading of individual draft picks are permitted during messageboard drafts. Live drafts will not be pre-randomized; they will use the standard Yahoo draft randomizer.
1.8b In the case that the Champions League uses a dual format, the draft order will be randomized for the first of the two leagues and then that draft order will be reversed for the second of the two leagues.
Format:
2.1 In Year 1, there will be 2 H2H leagues and 1 Roto league, managers will be assigned by the Executive Committee. Draft style and time will be determined by the commisioner of each individual league (who will communicate regularly with his league's managers, but is not required to meet every draft time request).
2.2 In Year 1, there will be no tiers, all leagues are equal. At the end of Year 1, the Top 4 finishers in each league will be invited to join a single Upper Tier league for Year 2 ("Champions League"). The bottom 8 finishers of each league in Year 1 may be invited to join either of 2 equal lower tier leagues for Year 2, one of which will be H2H and the other rotisserie ("First Division H2H" and "First Division Roto").
2.3 The Champions League will be required to play a minimum of one mandatory league, either H2H or rotisserie, and will, unless 9 of 12 manager vote against a second league, establish and play a second league of the opposite format, the results of which shall have equal weight as the mandatory league in determining Champions League final results. The Champions League mandatory format will be determined randomly each year, as follows: the format will be H2H if the Western Conference representative wins Game 3 of the prior season's NBA Championship series and rotisserie if the Eastern Conference representative wins Game 3.
If a Champions League elects to play a single league, the winner of that year's league shall have the right to use "Champions League Winner" in his Cafe signature. If a Champions League elects to use the dual H2H-Roto format, that year's league shall be referred to as "The FBC Octagon" and the winner may use "FBC Octagon Champion" in his Cafe signature.
Scoring:
3.1 The final standings of H2H leagues shall be determined by cumulative winning percentage (by categories not weeks) for the entire NBA season, i.e., there shall be no fantasy playoffs.
3.2 During any season the Champions League uses the dual H2H-Roto format (the "FBC Octagon"), the final standings shall be determined by adding the manager's finish in each league and dividing the sum by two. For example, 2nd in H2H and 3th in Roto = a sum of 5 / 2 = averaged finish of 2.5. The manager with the lowest averaged finish is the FBC Octagon Champion; the manager with the second lowest averaged finish is 2nd, etc. Ties will be broken, if necessary, by calculating the relative scoring percentage of both managers in relation to the median score of all managers in each league. For example, if the median score of a H2H league is .500, a manager with a winning percentage of .587 is .087 above the median score. A similar calculation can be done for the Roto league and when the two relative scoring percentages from each league are added together for both managers, the tie will be broken.
Annual Redistribution of Managers:
4.1 Year 2 and after, (i) the Top 6 finishers in Champions League retain their place the following year, the Lower 6 drop into the First Division leagues; and (ii) the Top 3 finishers in each First Division league are invited to join the Champions League the following year.
4.2 The bottom 9 finishers of each First Division league remain in the same league they were in the previous year. The bottom 6 of the previous year's Champions League will be distributed amongst the First Division H2H and First Division Roto based on their order of finish in the Champions league. For example, the 7th place finisher will reserve the first choice of which First Division league he wishes to join, while the last place finisher will fill in the remaining empty spot in whichever First Division league has not been filled yet.
4.3 The Executive Committee reserves right after any season to withhold an invitation for the following year to any manager who is either (i) consistently verbally abusive (standard trash talk is fine), (ii) found to have cheated; or (iii) finishes in the Bottom 4 of a league due to quitting the league or a lack of fantasy hoops knowledge.
Don't worry about 4.3 (iii) guys, just stay active and don't make absurd trades that need to be vetoed and you should be fine.
Prizes:
The winner of the Champions League each year will receive his choice of: (i) right to wear an exact duplicate of the Championship ring awarded to the NBA champs the year you win (must buy ring yourself); (ii) a diamond-encrusted clock necklace with oversized 18-carat gold-plated chain presented to you in person by recording artist Flava Flav (yeahhh boiii); or (iii) the permanent right to say to anybody in the Cafe who ever dares question your fantasy or NBA knowledge the following: "It's all about the bling though, ain't it?"
