Quest to find a good fantasy basketball magazine???

Postby Broy » Mon Oct 02, 2006 5:44 pm

I've yet to find a good magazine for fantasy basketball.
I get all the best info from various websites (the best I've found include this site, fantasybasketblog.net, and rotofreak.com).

Still, I'm on a quest to find a decent fantasy basketball magazine? It definitely seems like there's not as many options as with fantasy football.

I've seen some crappy ones, (i.e. they don't factor in turnovers and/or don't have very good ranking lists, i.e. CBS Sportsline, NBA.Com)

Or there's the magazines that provide decent NBA preview's, but only devote 15 pages to Fantasy - i.e. Sporting News, Street and Smith's

One magazine that I'm considering checking out (since they did a good job on their fantasy football magaine) is Rotoworld.com.

Does anyone have any experience with that one, or any other decent magainzes???

Any help is appreciated.

i used to buy magazines for every sport, but with what's available on the internet and that you get fantasy previews in SI and ESPN mag, i don't bother spending $9.95 on those things any more

They take to long to compile, print and distribute to be worth much.

Went throught a couple today

Just love how they project Gasol to play 79 and 75 games respectively. One doesn't include turnover projections. Forums, BBM and net articles don't justify buying but maybe browsing.

Here's an online magazine available for free download in PDF form... doesn't seem too bad. Of course, it isn't portable, but you can always print the Draft Kit and adjust as you see fit. I've downloaded it the past two or three seasons. And hey, it's free...

NBA.com just released theirs. Seems ok when I browsed through it.

Very sharp looking magazine, and I think it's great that it's downloadable and offers full projections, but it's hard to put any credence on anything they're saying when they have player rankings such as:

3. Paul
6. Duncan
12. D Howard
14. J Johnson
15. Marion
16. Kobe
18. Arenas
20. Okur
24. Nash
36. Ming
37. Iverson
41. Ray Allen
51. Zach Randolph
52. Rashard
64. B Miller
73. G Wallace

oh I totally agree some of their rankings are off the charts strange. Just figured I'd pass it along because it is free. Can'thurt to have something else to look at.

Or better yet, recommend it to someof your leaguemates and see if they draft off of it :)

yeah, the NBA.com magazine is the best one I've seen so far. I'm still hoping to see rotoworld.com's magazine to compare.
