Could Matt Barnes be this years WW gem?

i retract my pervious statement that it's was all about murphy. i think barnes is money from here on out

Jason Richardson just broke his right hand and will likely be out for 2 months or so. Looks like Barnes will continue to stay hot in the meantime. I think it's moreso the perpetual warrior injuries that are keeping Barnes afloat. On a healthy warrior roster or on any different team, I don't think he would have these numbers.

The big difference for Barnes this year is that he's shooting 3s. Going into this season he was a career 20% 3pt shooter averaging far less than 1 attempt per game. This season he's shooting 45% with over 3 attempts per game. His other numbers (except blocks) seems to be in line with the increased minutes.

I think Barnes is getting opportunities in GS that he wouldn't have gotten anywhere else. I think he's a terrific player but he would not be getting 32 minutes per game anywhere else like he has been getting in Dec.

Of course, the right player in the right situation will always bring out the best in them so I'm just regretting the fact that I didn't grab him earlier in some leagues =)

This is probably true, but with the top 2-3 players injured or suspended for so many teams, a guy fixin to bust out like Barnes may have had his chances elsewhere too. Hard to know for sure.

ur probably right. with all the injuries this year, even i could've made a fantasy impact on certain teams by now .

if you have him, wait a week and then sell high if you are in a league where people are noticing his production. At least that is what I would do.
