not to mention he is played 43 minutes tonite and his confidence is sky high. It's like a perpetual cycle -- more playing time, more confidence, better performance, further playing time. The warrior's backcourt without ellis and jrich is looking pretty empty so Barnes has pretty much become one of their primary options.
Nobody saw it coming simply because Jrich and Monta were ahead of him in the depth chart and we never thought Barnes would be eclipsing 40 minutes per game. Nor did we expect that a 20% career 3 point shooter would be given the greenlight to jack up 16 attempts like he did tonite. But that's Nellie for you, always finding ways to bring out the best in what he has and milking it for all it's worth. That being said, I'm glad for the kid since he is making the best of his opportunities. He seems to be one hell of a ball player and watching the fashion with which he puts up his points reaffirms that for me on a nightly basis.
I was surprised that the Kings let him go last year because I thought Garcia and Barnes complimented each other very well and always brought energy when they subbed in for Sac. But at least I'm glad he's on my warriors now
