To be honest, people don't make picks in time not because they are thinking for 5h but miss the deadline; rather they miss because they simply weren't online or didn't have time. This is when the draft list to mod comes in. It is much easier to have a draft list of players in the early rounds when when taking a young stud is the obvious way to go than later rounds when you need to decide what bench player you really need.

gotta agree with this.

just to clarify a few things, bc I am not sure I totally get it...

1) fantasy stats do not matter? just putting together a solid well rounded roster? do we track the players post draft somehow?
2) actual salary, contracts, or salary cap doesn't factor? only talent?
3) what actually happens post-draft? we actually have a league? trades and stuff or we just look at the team we have assembled?

thanks

1. Fantasy stats do not matter. The objective is to put together a team that would win NBA games, with an eye towards the future (so don't draft entirely veterans).
2. Salaries are irrelevant (would make things way too complicated).
3. Pretty much just look at the teams that have been assembled. Hopefully the Discussion thread will be lively (discussion and constructive arguments about real life player value are the point of this thing), and we will probably have a "Rate/Discuss the Teams" thread in Leftovers.

Application accepted. :-b The Suns are already taken, however.

We're going to start as soon as we can. January 2nd is the tentative date, so hopefully we can fill this thing before then (we currently have 25, so only another 5 to go). If we can't get those 5 in the next couple days, an executive decision will be made on whether we will assign a second team to a few people, or wait a little longer.

So... we are still hoping to find a few more teams. If not, a few of us will take over another franchise.
I'm going to do the random generator in a couple minutes (link is here). I'm just going to enter the NBA team names. I'll post the results shortly.
