Draft Discussion

Postby nebgib5 » Sun Dec 23, 2007 9:40 pm

Since there's nothing to actually play out, this whole exercise is about the discussion. This is where all of those comments go. Only one rule:

Do not mention players who have not yet been selected.

Are picks trading allowed for this?

good question - and we can only draft players who are associated with current nba and nbadl teams, correct?

NBA and NBADL players only. we're not making this about international scouting

and if enough people want to be able to trade draft picks, then it's likely to be allowed. i'd probably lean towards no trading of picks, just so things don't get overly convoluted

In regards to trading picks, I'm happy to go with whatever the majority opinion is. It certainly isn't something that is necessary, but it does add another element and I would trust that everyone involved is savvy enough not to get truly played (didn't Netsfan write an article about such a trade? :-b ).

What will certainly be unacceptable, however, is trying to work out a trade of picks while you're on the clock. It's going to be tough enough to get this thing completed in a timely fashion as it is; once you're on the clock, you stick with what you've got. ;-D

Trading picks is more fun not to mention more real. I agree that trading picks while on the clock isn't a good idea.

makes sense to me, once it gets to you theres no more trading allowed, so if you want to swap picks do it early and often.

Damn, there goes some of my GM & Scouting course material. Nicolas Batum was going to be my 6th man, but now I'm going to have to look somewhere else... :,-(

By the way, is Joe Forte still alive? He would be a nice cornerstone for a franchise... :*)
