I got a PM saying that I was probably up now.

Memphis takes:
8.23 Johan Petro - Center

I must admit I've never seen this guy play but he's young, 7 feet tall, and pulling down a decent amount of boards in his playing time. With only having Shaq and Dirk as our big men so far, the Grizz had to draft solely on need here.

The Sacramento Kings select:

08.25 Julian Wright, SF

The ubiquitous forward has been a catalyst in recent games to provide a great spark to his team. We believe that he'll become a larger piece to help get our ball club to the Promised Land...

With the 26th pick of the 8th round, the New Orleans Hornets select:

Matt Carroll

Image

We were hoping he fell in our lap. Just like the Spurs had Brent Barry and Horry, the Bulls - Paxson and Kerr, the Lakers - Fox and Rice, the need for a solid outside threat for a championship team is critical. We believe Matt will make for an excellent role player with the ability to spread the defense allowing Kobe and Artest more freedom to operate.

La Lakers Select:

8.26 -- Jason Williams - PG

I have a rookie PG, so a veteran PG that can come in and run the team for short stretches is exactly what I need.

With the 28th pick of the 8th round, the Nets are proud to select:

Image

8.28 Sebastian Telfair PG

Birth Date: 06/09/1985
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 160lbs.

Brooklyn-bound Sebastian Telfair is coming home. Brooklyn fans remember his storied tenure as a basketball star at Abraham Lincoln High School and his decision to jump to the NBA over college. Despite already playing for three teams, Sebastian is a young, spry 22 years old with outstanding basketball skills.

Image

Sebastian has proven this season that he can man the point effectively and dish out assists (ranks 17th in the NBA is assists per game this season). Up until his ankle injury this week, Sebastian Telfair has been devouring minutes for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season because of the injury to Randy Foye. He is averaging 32.4 minutes and is leading his current team in assists with 5.9 to with over 9 points and 1 steal per game. As a backup to Acie Law, he will provide additional youth and solid ballhandling skills to feed the scoring machines on the revamped Brooklyn Nets.

Lastly, as long time friends of LeBron, Sebastian will partner with the other former high school phenom to help build a storied franchise in Brooklyn. LeBron will help keep him out of trouble to ensure he is a valuable contributor to the team's overall success.

Welcome home to Brooklyn, Sebastian! :-D

With the 30th pick in the 8th round, the Toronto Raptors select...

8.30 Rasho Nesterovic, C

Image

Thirty-one year old Rasho Nesterovic gives the Raptors a smart big man up the middle with championship experience and another 7-footer on defence. While Oberto matches up well against quicker centers, Rasho is a great defender against traditional bigs. Though his post moves are numbered and he has limited range on his jumper, Rasho plays well within the team and never tries to do too much offensively. He is a good passer and a decent finisher around the basket.

8.29 Sean May (PF)

A young big man who did really well last year before injuring himself for this year.

Roland rating of +3.5 was 2nd best for Bobcats last year.
