With the first pick in round 9 of the Cafe Reshuffle, the Toronto Raptors select...

9.01 Jannero Pargo, PG

Image

A backup point guard with 3-point range, Pargo will help run the second unit when Hinrich needs a breather - he can also slide over to SG to play alongside Hinrich if the team is looking for some more scoring. An average ball handler and distributor, Pargo will not be asked to simply create for his teammates, but also to hit open outside shots.

9.02 Carlos Arroyo - PG

Arroyo is a solid PG and has the 4th best +/- on the Magic. He will do a great job backing up Chris Paul and be able to run the offense for the 2nd unit.

With the 3rd pick in the ninth round, the Nets are proud to select:
Image
9.03 Mouhamed Saer Sene, Center
HEIGHT: 7’0
WEIGHT: 230 lbs
WINGSPAN: 7 foot 8½ inches
DOB: 5/12/1986
Age: 21
Image

Sene! Sene! Sene! is a Senegalese professional basketball player who was drafted 10th overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2006 NBA Draft. He is noted to have great shot-blocking potential because of his 7'8½" wingspan and drew early comparisons to Dikembe Mutombo. Sene is an explosive leaper from Senegal with an NBA-ready body who feels right at home on the defensive end of the court and runs the floor well. Surprisingly agile for his size, and with explosive leaping ability, the 21-year-old shows good timing blocking shots. Sene’s impact on defense however is not limited to shot blocking only. He is active has a good understanding of rotating defensively on call out picks, and is quick hedging and recovering on screens. His foot-work was above average as well helping him to capture some powerful dunks on offense.
Image

On January 11, 2007, the Seattle SuperSonics assigned Sene to the NBA Development League's Idaho Stampede, where he is averaging 12.6 points (on 54% shooting), 9.3 rebounds and a solid 1.8 blocks per game. Last week, he posted a 30 point, 18 rebound, 2 block performance. Granted it is the NBDL, but with that wingspan and shot blocking potential, he will be a solid backup for Andrew Bogut…and he only began playing basketball in 2003 at the age of 16…And he speaks French!....did I mention his 7’8½’ wingspan???

Sene will provide some additional youth, defense, shot blocking and toughness to the already powerful Nets franchise.
Welcome to the Nets!!!! ;-D ;-D ;-D

With the 5th pick in the 9th Round, the New Orleans Hornets select:

Charlie Bell

Image

We are happy to add another solid defender who will come off the bench to spell either Bryant or Artest. In addition, he has a solid offensive game as he's an explosive scorer with the ability to nail the 3. He is another player we feel was passed over by previous teams due to his somewhat inconsistent season. Lately he has been on fire and we think he'll prove to be an invaluable pick of the last half of the draft.

The Sacramento Kings select:

09.06 Jorge Garbajosa

Image

This versatile dynamo with provide us with the perfect inside/out blend to complement the Ming dynasty. Further, he can also fill in at the Center position when necessary to give Yao a breather when needed. Unable to build on his success last year, we believe that when fully healthy he'll provide us with great contributions across the board. With this pick we're all smiles...
