Echo this. We've gone with dual randomization in previous years, and changing things up can be good. Particularly if we have a deeper league of 14 managers (still think it could be 12 due to natural attrition, but we'll see). I don't like to see draft position used as an excuse, but its pretty natural for guys to feel at a disadvantage if they're picking late in two related leagues.

On a different but league-related topic, lets all make a concerted effort to encourage guys around the Cafe this offseason to get on the Octagon wait-list. I expect we'll need @ 8-10 new manager/blood to fill out the two First Division leagues, which is good. Part of the purpose of this league is to provide an opportunity for relatively unknown managerial talent to show their game. Lets make sure we've got a bunch of obsessive First Division managers hungry to earn their way to the upper league and wreak some havok.

;-D ;-D

Shaping up to be a really interesting Octagon Champions League next season. Roto specialists like "the one" will have to branch out into H2H if we go two leagues ... that's what its all about yah.

agree that reversing the order works, also builds some continuity between the two leagues.

I'm fine with reversing the order as well. One small suggestion would be in tiebreaks where we use % away from the mean we use no of standard deviations, scores in HTH & roto leagues tend to be slightly differently distributed so this may act like a normalisation factor. I've never played in a 14 team league before, I'm looking forward to the challenge ;-D

Yea I'm gunna have to study up on H2H. As of right now I have absolutely no strategy so I'll have to go over some old h@H strategy posts at the cafe I use to ignore.

Reversing the order seems like the most consistant fair thing to do.
