Re: First Division ROTO Draft Commentary

I'm pretty sure the 4th and 9th picks are the worst this year (and no, I'm not just saying that cause they're the exact picks I got in the Champs League :-o ; I thought that even before this draft). After the top 3, there's a sizable dropoff at 4. And after the top 8 (which most people agree on), there's a dropoff at 9, where anyone can taken 9-14 or so can end up with the same value. Definitely a bad spot to be in.

Dirk has been a top 5-6 player for like a decade now, would love to take him at 4. Gasol is an extremely safe pick and Granger has top 5 upside. I would have LOVED Gasol, Granger, or Deron over Amare.

I actually totally expected Amare to fall to me, but oh well. I feel its safer to go with Brook and Josh because they dont miss many games. I also needed to grab stls, blks, and one player with upside and good ft% early.

Since this is a real draft, not a mock, no mention of undrafted players in the commentary.
Yes, Warriors sold at last!

Oh ok, my apologies...I forgot. Actually I did remember that, but for some reason I forgot it as I was posting that message, sorry.

So many name drops. :-o

Yeah, I had the same thought about blocks. Amare can at least get 1 a game and make some contribution, even if it's marginal for an elite big. I also think my second round pick, Kidd, was much easier. Kidd provides the extra rebounding at PG to offset Amare not getting 10+, Amare can push 25 PPG to offset Kidd getting only 10, and I'm not going to get an elite PG by the time I pick again, they'll be going in the late 2nd/early 3rd. Kidd also plays 82 games every year and has been top 15 in BBM as long as he's over 40% on field goals. His turnovers are not high either. I also like having the fantasy value of my top 2 picks being close to their real life ones, trust those guys more.

I probably would have taken Smith or Lopez if either were there.
