Re: First Division H2H Draft Commentary

I saw that he was still on the board a couple of rounds ago, but there just seemed to be better fitting pieces for my squad.

I'd argue with you RB on usage at this point, simply because I'd take the 18+ PTS and 9+ boards any day.

But I went back and plugged him into BBM using standard 9-cat settings - he ranks 102, which puts him smack in the middle of Round 9 value. Of course, this is using last year's stats - and I agree with you 100%, that a healthy Griffin in the mix will eat into those numbers something huge. So Kamen going here in the 10th doesn't seem far fetched at all.

In fact, now that I look at it, I'm kinda glad I passed on him the last few rounds - at least for my squad.

Finally someone bit on the caveman. I'm with Justin that I'm simply not all that enamoured with him especially considering his blocks are rather disappointing. Besides Griffin, I expect Gordon to attempt to assert himself a little more this season further reducing his touches. Also, Kaman seems to be a guy who although is just 28, won't avoid the injury bug as he'd rather destroy something like a few of my neighbors than work hard to maintain his conditioning. ;-7

I agree he isnt an exciting pick but late 10th round is a nice price (you ranked him 9th round in the Cafe rankings). If he can match last year that is 18 points and 9+ boards. His blocks are 1.2 last year, 1.4 career. Not awesome but useful. Plus I have Griffin, so if he steals the rebounds, good.

I was so desperately hoping that someone would snag Lee before he made it back to me. I didn't want to face the dilemma of not particularly wanting to draft him vs. not wanting to leave potential value on the board by passing on him. In other news, I really like what greyone was able to do in the 12-hole. That has to be the worst spot to draft in this year, and he came out of the turn with a top-tier point guard and center.

My gut was pushing to go pg-pg at the 1st turn. }:-)

20/10/2/50%/80% was impossible to pass up.

Upcoming rounds should be interesting.

Good to see you guys decided to roll with the dual-league format. Greyone, you just take care of business, I'll see if I can get back up there.
