Watching the players IMO is a disadvantage, you build up bias based on how they play the game or style of play. All I have to go by are the stats and the reason I am so good at fantasy sports :-D

One might think that even those who just make it to the champions league are all tied. Is there a title for the first year's winner?

No but on the real muquas, this is a race to the top. Don't see a point in rewarding a manager for getting half way.
