It was clear the draft would start once everyone checked in. Since this is the first round, I will make saldoggs pick based off basketballmonster value (besides a certain center).

I would go with the next per game value bbm player, unless saldogg mysteriously appears quickly or if you know that Carnivalmafia can't pick for a while.

Alternatively, he could just be bumped to the end of the line and take the 12th pick; that way, he still gets to choose whoever he wants and still reaps a negative consequence.

Okay well since this will be my only cafe draft [already locked up in 3 other leagues and not gonna go over 4 leagues this year], I'm gonna go ahead and comment on all my picks:

I could be reaching a bit here, since there are numerous players that could be considered a better pick here. But since I'm a Suns fan, I always make sure I have at least one Suns player on my team as a good luck charm. Further than that though, I really do believe Stoudemire will be a top 10 player, if not a top 5 player this year, and that he will improve his stats from last year immensely. For one, last year he wasn't even fully recovered from surgery. It's a well-known fact that it takes about two years to fully recover from microfracture. When last year started, people speculated he was going to have to skip some games on back-to-backs because he wasn't healthy enough yet. I'd say last year he started at around 70%, finished the season at 85%, but this season he's going to be 100% back. Secondly, he wasn't able to train much last summer. He only started playing five-on-five about a month before the season started. So he wasn't even polished when last season started, and all he could last summer was stand around and shoot. This year though, it's been reported that he's been the only Sun to go to their practice facilities everyday, and he's supposed to be very fired up about improving his game. So he will be very polished this season after actually being able to practice, and he's very pissed about losing last year and everything that surrounded it. Should be a bust out year for Stoudemire.
