bc there are better veterans out there...look at the last pick Jason Kapono - one of the best shooters...versus some of these rookies who may never be anything...

Heh, I'm with Nene actually. At this point we're mostly choosing between rookies/young guys who may never be anything and veterans who will definitely never be anything.

I strongly disagree - overall in this draft there has been WAY too much overdrafting of rookies versus real talent...these guys HAVE NEVER STEPPED ON AN NBA COURT...versus proven veterans that have established that they can survive, let alone thrive in the NBA.

A first round pick? Two second round pics?

Then one fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh round pick,
a whopping FIVE eighth round picks, 3 ninth rounders, 5 tenth rounders and 5 eleventh rounders and we are still not done with the round...

Cafe Reshuffle selection, NBA draft pick

1.14 1 Wall, John (first round, really???? before Amare, Danny Granger or more proven PGs such as Derrick Rose, Rajon Rondo, Westbrook)

2.14 2 Turner, Evan (way way too early - before Joakin Noah or Rudy Gay?)

4.11 3 Favors, Derrick (not bad for fourth round)

7.14 4 Johnson, Wesley (not terrible for 7th round)

2.18 5 Cousins, DeMarcus (too early)

10.23 6 Udoh, Ekpe (OK for 10th round)

5.25 7 Monroe, Greg (too early)

8.23 8 Aminu, Al-Farouq (too early)

9.10 9 Hayward, Gordon

8.30 10 George, Paul

6.21 11 Aldrich, Cole (6th round, really)

8.07 12 Henry, Xavier

8.14 13 Davis, Ed

10.17 14 Patterson, Patrick

10.29 15 Sanders, Larry

11.17 16 Babbitt, Luke

11.05 17 Seraphin, Kevin

9.11 18 Bledsoe, Eric

11.08 19 Bradley, Avery

8.18 20 Anderson, James

11.09 21 Brackins, Craig

10.01 26 Pondexter, Quincy

9.12 27 Crawford, Jordan

11.19 28 Vasquez, Greivis (OK I guess)

10.14 33 Whiteside, Hassan

While perhaps a few rookies went earlier than they should, I agree overall that youth is better option for many a team. C2C - you're raving about Kapono and his ability to shoot? Maybe if it's All-Star weekend and he's either playing HORSE or the 3 point competition. Fact is, there is a reason why most of his career his minutes have been limited - he can't do anything else. Also, last season was his worst percentage wise from long distance. ;-7

I didn't actually want Turner that early, but I had red working off a flawed list which didn't take into account the other players on the board..hard to explain what I mean there. At any rate, I'm happy to have Turner, but then the next pick - I definitely would not have taken Ray Allen. Basically, you're faulting me for a portion of the draft I wasn't able to fully commit my time & energy to.

not faulting you per se, just a general observation that rookies were overvalued relative to proven veterans....

to red's point, I am not raving about Kapono....he is indeed a great shooter, and for the end of the bench, that is a better, safer and more understandable pick than gambling on a late first round draft pick that statistically will never thrive in the NBA (or be more accomplished than Kapono was in his career - which is not huge, but he filled his role well). You know what you are getting (and what you are not). Some sharp shooting 3 point shooter that can add a scoring punch and stretch the D. Keep in mind, I didn't select him - I was just using him as an example.

Didn't get a PM at all for this round, and it's not exactly easy to stay updated with a draft that has this many picks each round and is moving so slowly.

Last round fellas (except for 1 more pick by rocketsdwm in the 11th) - doesn't it seem like we're in some video game trying to knock down a Mike Tyson in his prime? :*)
