I never went in your throat, and the difference is that he has 0.48 left to spend of the MLE.

That's actually not what I was expecting. You made the offer in good faith and I wasn't looking to steal him out from under you. We could certainly use this opportunity to get a rule in place if we wanted. I'm sure this will happen again at some point, so having a precedent one way or the other sounds like a good idea to me.

I brought this situation up as a possible rule a while ago and was told this was not changing, so you are looking at the precedent.

you proposed resetting the clock. i don't like that idea and i argued against it. i don't remember resetting the clock getting any wide support after that. i'm listening for other ideas, if there are any

We might be saying the same thing, but to be clear, my resetting the clock meant that the clock is run from whenever that bid was made instead of jumping back to the previous time. It really wouldn't change this situation in particular though.

I'm going to abjure saying anything relevant since I'm centrally involved. We have some good heads in this league, and I'll happily abide by whatever they decide.

First time since free agency opened that there are no live players. Are we done with team building for now?
