The only thing keeping this league alive is the lockout.

Last I heard, Fenris was making a list of the rules up for change. Biggie ups for that. ;-D

This would be a strong momentum building first step.

We could easily just start with the small changes basically everyone agreed with for the draft, and go ahead with that before any of the others rules get touched so we have that over and done with.

ok...but the point was we need a list of these changes to make sure we all know what they are and are happy with them. But the problem as usual is someone needs to do it...

We can always fall back on the reboot option, just knock up a new set of rules, redraft and punch it in yahoo! As long as the NBA keep delaying the season we can hold onto the belief this league will continue, but if they reached an agreement this weekend or next week we'd be pushed for time even with an active committee in place, which we don't really have at this stage.

Not saying I want to redraft, but it sure would cut out a lot of work. There'd be no lottery or rookie draft, no restricted or unrestricted free agency, and any transition from one set of rules to another is bound to get complicated. If it comes down to either canning the league or going the redraft I'd certainly favour the latter

Boys

I am all for keeping this thing alive and doing whatever we have to do to make it happen (even a redraft). I just think it would suck to have no NBA season and go through the motions of everything before that happend. Time is money and I ain't got alot of either!

Lets finalize rules and then draft IF as season ever happens!

I like this idea. We might have to crunch some things, but I don't like the idea of doing a bunch of work that will then be wasted. I realize basketball will eventually come back, but we might have to make some adjustments based on what the lockout talks bring as well.

The draft is as of last season, it was done before the lockout, so any changes now, even referring to the draft, should not affect the previous draft settings. I don't see why we don't just do the draft and get it out of the way. It's minimal work but saves time should an agreement be reached and we have to rush the rest of the settings.
