Welcome 4ndrew

Perhaps it's all the new rules and what have you, but I think I'd rather a total reboot regardless of how many GM's we get in here. 20 auctions a day sounds like fun to me :-B

Anyhow, we'll have to make the final calls on pretty much everything this weekend. Get your 2c in guys, we still need input on.....

1) the private bidding process:
http://www.fantasybasketballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=68541&start=40; and

2) whether to use private or public bidding this preseason
http://www.fantasybasketballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=68672&start=40

plus there will be a few other loose ends to tie up no doubt

Welcome 4ndrew! As others have said, no such thing as a stupid question. And indeed we're reevaluating a lot of the rules and I am sure we would all appreciate your input.

As for the changes themselves, I've admittedly taken a back seat to it all, as I'd be happy with whatever we can agree on. For what it's worth I do like the idea of blind bidding if we can pull it off. I would just want to make sure someone was willing and able to manage it and didn't get burned out on it, as it could be a lot of extra work.

If we are looking at fewer teams, I would indeed be comfortable with a supplemental draft of sorts - not a complete reboot, but a way to shape the league to fit the managers. Originally, if I'm not mistaken, Kal had intended to add teams as the league wore on - I suppose we could do the very same starting next season. If we do that, we obviously need to have a solid base to start from.

Theoretically if we did do a blind bidding system we could force the fact that we could be done on time. Except for the fact that some people might lose out on all the players they're going after and then be player-less. In this instance and in the open bidding, we'd just have to say drafting ends on x date and everyone else still available is free to be signed or something

Even with blind bidding we'd have to set X number of FAs for the auction process and then set the rest for WW. We could theoretically do a reboot with either system I guess.

Great work DV, I am thinking that maybe you release each level of FA as one comes off the board if we do a public bidding process. For example one CP3 is gone, you release the next top FA and so on. This may speed things up as dome FA's will go faster than others.

I think this is a good idea and makes a lot of sense. It moves the process along and eliminates the problem of guys getting stuck with empty roster spots.

I've completed my first draft of the new rules, which is sitting in a new thread. Check it out. ;-D

EDIT: have also added the Star Player list in its own thread. This is different from the first one I published, basically because I stuffed up with that one (wrong league size in the settings).
