Just posted a comment in that thread. Your offer was invalid (I'm pretty sure). Better hurry up and bid again. Anyone think coffeeman would bid that much on AR if he knew his bid on Lee was still the most recent valid bid? :-o

Exactly. I was sure I had lost Lee and was not going to bid again. So I put a bid in on Randolph also thinking the way guys have been bidding so high for young talent that someone would over bid me. I assure you I would not have bid for Randolph until at least I knew what happened with Lee. I suppose if I get Randolph it is ok but it will leave me with little coin and is probably not the best move for me after suddenly getting Lee.

same happened to me with durant and deron, after we had to pause 2nd time. you have to adapt and do your best. when we miss a bad bid, it's not just on commish and a bidding gm, but on all the league and everybody have to live with consequences

In the spirit of good will. Couldn't we accept the invalid bid with a small tweak? To make both sides happy. :-?

IMO at this point we have a generally good idea about how to bid, having gone through most of the learning bumps along the way. I think we should change the rules about invalid bids and make the post identifying an invalid bid as one that resets the clock. this would avoid anyone getting screwed by suddenly having the highest bid that just happen, and also give plenty of time for the person to fix their bid. It does add some time to the process of selecting teams, but I think this is the best way to do it.

no, it leaves the door open for abuse

It may leave the door open for abuse, but not much, and that assumes that people in the league are asinine enough, and imature enough to attempt to exploit it (for a really nonsensical reason). I really don't think the GM's of this league are that foolish and childish.
