Looking at the rosters, it seems like the smart thing to do was to pass on signing any of the studs and then conserve cap room to fill out your team with quality players. I think we all over paid for the big names.

I wanted a top stud but thanks to you guys, I was sort of forced to take this approach. ;-)

Felt I needed some veterans to round out the team, just in case some of my younger players "blow up".

I agree with Red, some of the top guys got paid way too much. Spending close to half your cap on a guy like Dwight leaves you little wiggle room. There are so many later round players going at such a discount.

I don't think the people who paid big sums for a star are in too much trouble. They will get cap relief next year while still having the star player, and this season it looks like there will be bodies around for them to fill rosters. The teams who saved money can grab some deals at the end of the auction, but these are late round players and even if you have the money you have limited roster spots.

I blew all my money mid-way through the auction but I am still happy with my team.

I kinda did a mixture of all the strats, but stayed away from overspending this year on players, still managing to get talent in Arenas and Kidd, and then kept on filling my team up with players along the way. I as well am really happy with my team.

This is an illegal bid on multiple levels. 10% of 960K is 96K, which means the max second year here should be way under that. Not to mention your numbers don't average to the average you have there.
