I'm confused by this. I didn't think you could go over the 65 million in the draft. Meaning the only way you could make a minimum bid on a player to fill out your roster was after the draft was completed. I think Fenris should only have .75M left? No? :-?

There was some talk a few posts back about not counting minimum contracts against your cap until after the auction to avoid rewarding teams for spending all of their money first and allowing them to go past the cap. It also helps avoid the order of players being brought out from impacting owners.

Example:
Team Weiner has spent 65M.
Team Frank has spent 64.5M.

Morris Day is up for draft. Team Weiner can offer the minimum without worrying about it impacting his ability to draft later players; he can always offer the minimum.Team Frank will be hesitant to offer the minimum because it causes him to only be allowed to offer the minimum later on, he wants to offer a player who is coming up later 500K. Because Team Frank spent his money more slowly, he is at a disadvantage when bidding on minimum players while teams over the cap have unlimited access to this.

Fenris brought it up and Kal okayed it, but it was on the fly.

Yeah, I don't like this. It definitely gives a decent sized advantage to people who've spent there money already. And like I said I don't like the idea that anyone is allowed to go over the soft cap during the draft since it was explicitly stated that you couldn't in the rules.
