420K(400K+440K)

*Before you say this isn't a 10% increase, it's my highest possible bid as I only have 400K left for year 1.

an exception to the rule was also explicitly stated in the league rules, so this shouldn't be an issue. otherwise my last successful bid would have been invalidated because it took me to the soft cap limit. if we couldn't go over the cap with min offers then the issue of not counting min offers towards the cap until after the draft wouldn't exist

Yeah, I'm supportive of this. I think it make sense that the $250K on Delonte did not hit towards his cap.

That said, I'll make a comment in hindsight (a lot good that does, right? :-b ), but now having gone through the draft, I would have liked to split (or would that be mix? :-? ) the bidding on the stars and scrubs. Meaning, our first 12 players to bid on were not all stars. I don't remember who made that recommendation, but now having gone through the draft, I'm kinda wishing we had gone that route. But oh well. All is good. This is still fun. B-)

Am finding Nene's comment about being lost funny. :-b I feel for you man, but I must say, I'm very glad you're still in the league. You're fun to play fantasy basketball against because of your NBA knowledge. ;-) ;-D

As it stands, I only have 3 players that are able to play PF and C. I'm gonna win either Haywood or Darko, but I still have too many guards and not enough bigs. And with the way trades will be in this league it wont be an easy problem to address. All the position quandries aside though, and I think I did a great job on snapping up some bargains.

Nene - I don't see a problem with you owning more than 14 players PRIOR to the start of the season. Once it starts, you'd have to cut somebody I suppose. Up until then, maybe you could work a trade - say with a team dying for cheap players? I dunno - haven't really thought about it much. Anyone else with anything?

this is correct. you can bid on up to 20 players, but you can't carry more then 14 (12 active, 2 iled) into the season so you can try trade some of the guys to get back down to 14 or you can drop them
