C. My preferred option: No exceptions to the cap until after the auction. In this case, minimum contracts should count against you. Teams over the cap must wait until the auction ends to fill their roster using the minimum salary exception. Auction ends when every team with cap space has filled their roster. Those who spent their money likely planned on being able to fill their team with minimum contracts during the auction but this gives you an absurd advantage.
All work and are close enough to being fair in my opinion. Nothing is going to be perfect.
Oh no you don't. We decided min salaries don't count and I've already drafted a player based on that decision. I'm not going back to having him count against my cap. You can't change stuff like that after we've already implemented it.
I'm for A mostly - just keep drafting. No matching allowed. Outbid if you can. There's nothing new in there to mess anyone up, and it about as fair to all parties as it's going to get in a first come - first serve draft. If people have a burning desire to match salaries and calculate MRL I guess I'll live with it, but it's more complicated that it sounds. When do you calaculate it? Is it one player at a time, so if I just won a guy he can count next time? Can i pick my own roster? Can I switch the roster in between? If they;re all done at once how are the teams with less warm bodies supposed to win anything? And iuf they;re never going to win isn;t it an unbalanced idea?
BLAH BLAH BLAH
I'd rather not bother honestly. First through the gate is fine with me.
