Nene has exceeded the maximum roster. i noticed that jarrett jack is to be dropped (on roster/salary page). what will become of him (jack)? i want to bid on him if he is available.

also, if anyone is interested in trading for hedo turkoglu, let me know. thanks...

sorry for the triple post. i was a bit worried that i can no longer see any free agents to bid on in the forums...

when nene decides to officially drop him (after the auction) he will become fa and everybody will be allowed to bid on him. until then he remains on nene's roster and can remain there until few day before season starts

Re: next year

Postby KalElen » Sat Oct 17, 2009 11:47 am

ok guys, first of all i have been talking about 30 teams and expansion from the start. anybody who had no idea about expansion didn't read through all the discussion (which i can understand because there was so much of it, but what they skipped, they skipped at their own risk). if there is an expansion it would be done in a manner similar to the nba's expansion. i have no idea what some of you are talking about (nixing of contracts, free agency and expansion have nothing to with one another)

second, i am not forcing anything on anybody. i didn't say we will do this period. i asked about opinions. i presumed that everybody was aware that expansion is in my plans. i will do everything in my power to make it happen in some shape or form and at some point, but as i said i have absolutely no intention of forcing something on the rest of the league if the rest of the league doesn't want it

third i will not respond to ultimatums from anybody. i keep repeating i am not a dictator here, i will listen to all opinions, i will discuss, i will organize league votes and let majority decide, but if anybody wants to say something like do things my way or i'm gone, he can leave right now. majority will decide, anybody who has problem with it is free to go at any time

i wouldn't invite just anybody to this league btw. i had several good cafe contributors, guys who would be assets to this league but couldn't commit this year for various reasons, interested in joining next year, so i thought that it would be good for the league to add new quality gms

i'm not opposed to expanding after year two and/or protecting players/cap space. there would be a restriction on how many players can each team lose etc. hard and soft cap limits might need to be adjusted so that new teams don't disturb the salary balance? i want to define the the rules used for this situation well in advance so that everyone has enough time to adjust. that's why i want to see more opinions and discussion before i put anything to vote

another situation we should address is what happens if we lose more then one gm after first year. do we take new gms and give them old teams or do we put all players that were on those teams into a mini draft for new gms (with old salaries), or do we hold mini-auction for them (not my preference because auctions take a lot of time and effort to organize and maintain)?

as for free agency, what do we do with teams with multiple fas. do we allow them to nominate their own players in order that they wish, or do we follow some list (probably bbm)?

Whoa. That's weird. I see him on the draft results, but he shows up as FA when I search in the "Players" section. :-S Sorry about that. :-/

It's the whole idea of protecting players/salary that bugs me. I am all for doing an expansion in year 2 (as long as the new teams don't get an advantage signing players), but I think it should just be done then with any free agents avail, and teams keep any player they have under contract.
