Red's already got Kirilenko. He shows as a FA because he's on Red's IL.

I'm good with everything stated assuming this is absolutely a confirmed rule that it doesn't count agaisnt cap for the year (I seem to be not seeing it :*) ). So if greyone makes a one week offer on Rafer, it basically does not impact his salary or his cap (or anything). After he releases Rafer after 7 days, any of us (incl Greyone) can pickup Rafer for another one week contract or any of us can offer something guaranteed (including the league min if we wish).

I guess my only question is, what prevents a team from dropping their one week player and claiming them for another week immediately. I don't think the rules have any safeguards there. Do there need to be safeguards? :-?

I think we do need something in place - otherwise you could just pick one guy and keep him all season on a string of 7 day contracts. I think any one player can be extend, maybe once or twice, but after that you either have to drop him or sign him. The NBA only allows a team to sign the same payer to two 10 day contracts in a given season, and I'm comfortable using the same limitation here. A couple of points...

Back to back 7 days shouldn't, IMO, involve dropping the player in Yahoo. Just post that you're keeping him on.

The 7 day should start on the first day a player is available on the GMs roster (rather than the day when he's added).

If we're only allowing two 7 days per player per team, then we need a master list somewhere.

i guess it's not stated explicitly, but as i said rules were reduced wherever it was possible so some things went implicitly, based on text that was kept (such as rookie scale for 2 rounds and two rounds only). 2 round rookie draft was one of them

Instead of 2 10 day contracts as a max, let's have 3 7-day contracts?

Definitely agree we need a list for this as well. My feeling is let's incorporate it into the IL list going on over on the league page. Instead of using Thrill's Idea of using IL guys in each managers Shout space, let's save this space for 7 day guys?
