...that's still 2 years long, and now has the added benefit of being more than the minimum which isn't allowed either.

-when offering contracts to free agents:
1) offers within 50% and 100% of the maximum have to be between 2 and 4 years long
2) offers within 25% and 49% of the maximum have to be between 1 and 3 years long
3) offers smaller then 25% of the maximum can go between 1 and 2 years

Is an offer smaller than 25% of the maximum not a minimum bid which can therefore be between 1 and 2 years?

-after using up or forfeiting mle, teams over the (soft) cap can only offer one year min salary deals to free agents. these offers can be extended only if mle is not available

min salary for a single year: 250k

Oh wow man, my appologies. I was looking at the wrong team who had a salary over the soft cap. Really sorry for all the confusion. The first bid you made was legal. The rest was a cluster f all thanks to me. :D
