Pardon me for being late to the party, but fully agreed!

Re: Amnesty Clause

It seems the amnesty clause has reached an agreeable, simple stage. At the risk of making it more complicated, would amnesty be something that can be traded? Or is it a use-it-or-lose-it tool? Also, what would be the time frame - off season only?

Re: Lets roll with weekly lineups ~ INACTIVE ROSTER SLOTS

I also vote against weekly line-ups. We discussed it a bit throughout last season, and obviously the meat of the debate has been parsed out here. My biggest fear would be to change format because we 'like it better' and force our league to fit that format, rather than defining league rules and choosing to be weekly or daily. If there are specific changes to other league rules (i.e. the 3 dev spots) that could appease needs, I'd much rather prefer that.

Ultimately, weekly vs daily is a personal preference - I don't think one is any better than the other. The challenge with this league is that it was created as a daily and teams have been built around that format. Like most it seems, if majority wants weekly, then I'm all for it. I just know what my preference is.

With the other changes to allow developmental players I would rather have daily lineups too.

We said we would open trades before applying the amnesty, so in essence it is trade-able.

I saw that and assumed it meant that a GM would offer a potential amnesty player up for any sort of trade before simply dropping him - did I misread it? In essence, I am wondering if we can treat it like an MLE where if I don't feel the need to drop a player, I can trade my amnesty to another team for something. Though I imagine those deals would be hard to come by if they are in such need.

You can't outright trade your MLE.

Yeahm the MLE isn't tradeable, and I would assume the amnesty clause would be the same. If you have noone really worth dumping you can offer to trade for and dump an overpaid player from a team that has more than one, and perhaps picks up a draft pick or a young player in the deal to make it worth your while.

That's what I was thinking. ;-D

New CBA changes

Postby scully19 » Tue Jul 12, 2011 8:35 pm

Obviously changes are going to be made with the way the league is being run and we may want/need to adapt to them quickly if there is little time between when they resolve the new CBA and when the actually league starts up again.

The first one, which I think is pretty obvious, is that if they remove the soft cap, then we can basically agree now to remove our soft cap as well. This way if it does come to pass it is gone right away without discussion (or kept without discussion for that matter).
