The difference between team options and buyout in your rules is a team option it's only available in specific years of certain contracts. If you want to buyout someone before he hits the team option, you have to follow the 75%, 50% rule.

Ok, so a TO isn't a get out of jail free card- there is still a cost. Got it! ;-D
Will add this to the rules sometime soon.

We'll need an easy way of tracking how long the original contract was in our spreadsheets. Having columns for my BYS, N, r variables would be an easy and relevant way to do this.

I can just add a color.

Correct. The plan would be you have to decide whether or not to exercise the team option or buy out the player prior to offseason free agency.

Official Amnesty Vote

Postby dasein » Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:22 pm

I figure we need to do this quick, because dropped players will need to be added to the FA pool. I reackon the best way is to use the STV voting system (wikipedia it if you don't know it). It's the fairest system but a little complicated and don't worry, I'll work out the results. All you have to do is rank the following options in order of preference; 1st is most prefered, 3rd is least.

All options assume that the team is allowed to void one contract of any value. Trades may occur before the amnesty is used, but the amnesty itself may not be traded. This is a one-off amnesty which is valid only uptill free agency begins. This will be soon, but we'll have to set a date.

The options are:

A. Only new managers (last year and this year) recieve an amnesty.
B. Every manager recieves an amnesty.
C. Nobody recieves an amnesty.

Basically all or nothing for me as I played by the rules since Day 1 so we all share in the benefits or we skip it and make the new owners pay for the sins of the previous ones!
