Is This a Legal Strategy???

Postby Shirogohan » Mon Feb 06, 2012 5:23 pm

Is it legal for TEAM A to make an equal trade with TEAM B for the purpose of having more 3 more games in a week, especially on Sunday, and thus have a better chance to beat an opponent (TEAM C)?

I manage an ESPN, 10-team Keeper league.

1.TEAM A and TEAM C are undefeated at 5-0

2. TEAM A realized that TEAM C would play 5 more games this week than him (54 to 49).

3. TEAM A offered TEAM B an equal trade in which the players TEAM A receives play 1 more game each during the week than the ones he gives up, shortening the game disparity to 54-52 and thus giving TEAM A a much better chance to win his matchup against TEAM C.

I believe this is an excellent strategy, but would like to know what the Fantasy Basketball community thinks of it.

Thanks!

Don't have an issue with this at all as it's smart managing (provided he's not giving up significantly better overall value).

I might have issue if the managers traded back the following week.
Yes, Warriors sold at last!

There will definitely be no tradeback. Teams A and B swore under penalty of being disqualified, yet Team C is threatening to leave the league if the trade goes through . . .

I don't see anything wrong with this at all. It is a completely legal strategy and I commend Team A for playing smart within the rules of the game. The fact that Team C threatens to leave just because of a blemish on the record is pathetic. This is not the playoffs. Perfectly fine by me as long as player values are consistent.
