Rasheed Wallace is reportedly coming out of retirement to sign with the Lakers. Report is on RealGM.
No fantasy impact, but interesting move for the Lakers. Not sure I like it, but it doesn't sound horrible. I guess they aren't thrilled with Troy Murphy? Or Jim Buss is an idiot. I'm betting on the latter.
That puts Rasheed Wallace and Ron Artest on the same team. Who would have ever thought that would happen?
yeah i just don't get this move, maybe the depth is needed for a move later? His tank was pretty empty before this year not sure he isn't anything more than filler at the end of the bench.

Rumor has it that on March 1st, the Lakers will send Bynum and Pau to Orlando for Howard, Hedo, and Nelson. Toronto would someone be involved to send Calderon to the Magic.

If so, looking for big man depth makes sense.
Not sure what the deal is, but his signing does seem to suggest that Pau or other bigs are getting moved.

Wow, this could be a huge change in the league if that were to happen.
I'm not sure about Ryan but it seems like with the addition of BOTH Gasol and Bynum, he's still going to get plenty of open looks with the Magic (especially if they get a Calderon to fill Nelson's spot). And with Gasol and Bynum going to need time to get acclimated to the new offensive system, Ryan may be temporarily one of the top offensive options for the time being.
It's too hard to say how this will impact his value.
Bynum and Gasol should actually start together in Magic and will probably see an uptick in production now that they are basically the 1-2 scoring punch for Orlando. D12's numbers may take a hit now that he's playing second fiddle to Kobe. Nelson, Hedo, and Calderon's value should all relatively stay the same.
More importantly, whose going to start for the Lakers at PF? Murphy? Sheed? Whoever does start is probably worth at least a look. Both Murphy and Sheed have the potential to contribute in rebounds and treys at the PF spot with Lakers starting 5.

As a Laker fan, trading Gasol is the worst possible scenario any way you cut it. The start of the end. The team trading for Gasol will win a championship.
His talents will outlast Kobe. At least a few years after Kobe retires.
