Updating a previous item, James Harden will not return to Sunday's game after showing concussion-like symptoms.
Harden passed all league-mandated tests originally, but started to show some concussion-like symptoms while returning to the floor. The Thunder decided to play it safe and hold him out, and it's unclear at this point whether or not he will return during the regular season. We will update you once a timetable is given

Just saw this for the first time today. Just watching the replay, doesn't look like it was really on purpose...But who knows, maybe Artest is just that evil

I think it was on purpose for sure. You don't whip your elbow around that high on accident and I think if it was an accident after you do it, you turn around immediately and think oh my god, what just happened.

I'm expecting a 5 to 10 game suspension but wouldn't at all be surprised if Stern decides to make it harsher.

I wonder if any sport will ever just say, you're suspended until the other player is health plus an additional 5-10 games? Especially in hockey or football where concussions are becoming more common and have really taken some guys out a long time.

7 games...what do you guys think of the penalty?

It's probably about right all things considered. If you look at the history of the NBA and what cause fines and suspensions, most elbows haven been 1 or 2 game suspensions max and most punches are anywhere between 1-3 depending on if they made contact or not.

With the brutalness of this and Artest's history I think7 was probably about right. I do agree with most on TV that they should have had it start in the playoffs though.
