DAMN! Had to go back a ways and catch up with all the reading - stopped getting email notices on this thread, so I figured I'd catch up (since I've FINALLY got a breather!
). Lots of good stuff going through all the posts, though. I'll try to make it more of a habit to chime in (in other words, put my foot in my mouth!
Regarding Shved, I agree with RB, but more for the fact that I think Ridnour will stay solid for that team. I'll be honest though, I didn't get to watch too much Olympic play, even Team USA, so I can't base it on what I've seen or not seen. But I do
know what Rubio can do, and I know if he comes back mid-season at close to 100%, Ridnour's probably back to coming off the bench. As it is, he may be on the trading block anyway (if what I've been reading lately is correct). So the T-Wolves may be content in giving him serious run during the first half of the season, then just before the trade deadline, move him for another piece to their "unique" puzzle (I STILL
think Khan drafts players and makes trades using basketball trading cards...and darts!
But even if the T-Wolves move Ridnour and stick with Rubio and Shved, you still have JJ Barea on that roster. If memory serves me correctly, he went off the last month of the season when he got the start for several games. It's a small sample size (like a dozen or so games), but if we're talking guys who might carry over their success from the end of last season, Barea would fit that bill easy. And I could see him backing up whoever ends up being the starter in Minnesota. And if that person isn't Shved, then there won't be much PT left for him when all is said and done.
