Eric Gordon's Knee Back in the News

Postby RedHopeful » Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:42 am

The New Orleans Hornets announced today that Hornets guard Eric Gordon will have limited participation in training camp due to soreness in his right knee. Eric experienced soreness in his right knee while participating in voluntary workouts with the team at the end of the summer. Gordon underwent arthroscopic surgery last season on his right knee and returned to full strength at the end of the season and during the Olympic try-outs.

“The team is taking a cautious approach with Eric to give him the best chance to be ready for the season," General Manager Dell Demps said.

FWIW, during today's media day, he didn't think it was a big deal at all. ;-7

"He’s looking pretty strong in his workouts and he’s battling against coach Carlos (Daniel) everyday,’’ Williams said. "That helps him. "Eric has one of those games where he can get out there and be effective. He doesn’t have to score. He’s probably our best passer.

"His presence on the floor is something that we definitely miss. I really would like for that to happen. That would be a nice opening night gift. But I haven’t seen him go five on five yet. We just want him to be as healthy as he can before he gets out there because we don’t want anymore setbacks.’’

Thanks Red!

I don't want him to have any setbacks either. Drafted him expecting he would be available at the start of the season (in full and ready to go). :-°

Eric Gordon out vs. Spurs. Monty: "The way I understand it, he's going to be out indefinitely, until we get more clarity on what's going on

Needless to say I never draft him. I know, those 20 games he plays each season are good, but... ;-)

I also wonder how much of it has to do with him not having any love for New Orleans.

Interesting. The way that quote is phrased it can maybe be translated that Gordon's issue isn't health related?
