If you offer the max and have bird rights, seems a bit ridiculous if you cannot retain them due to tiebreaker rules.

Also don't know if this is the right time for it or not either, but since I didn't see anything in the rules, I figured what the heck - better to ask for forgiveness than permission, right? :-B

Anyway, I've got Shawn Marion for 9M this season, expiring contract. Looking for any combination of offers in return - in other words, make me an offer if your interested! :-b

9 mil for marion? you might have to pay me a pick to take that off your hands.

:-D Thanks for taking Marion last year.

You're welcome!

And just because I have him on the block, don't think I might just change my mind and keep him - with Caron gone, he could be in line for some major minutes.

Not that it really means anything...but you never know! }:-)

The team that owns the bird rights would only be a risk of losing the player if they had another star player that could only play the same position as the player up for auction.

Under your scenario, max players would rarely if ever switch teams and that's just not realistic nor fun for the league.

crazy question but ... how can you tell if you have bird rights on a player? This from someone who watches the game & used to play when he was young enough to have a vertical greater than 5cm, but who knows nothing about the business side of things 8-o
