Taj Gibson quietly signed extension

Postby silentjim » Thu Nov 01, 2012 8:47 pm

With a lot of bad signings happening, Taj's deadline deal kind of went unreported.

Seems like it's anywhere between 32-38 million over four years based on incentives. 8+ million seems a little high, but I don't doubt someone would have offered him even more had he hit free agency. He's another guy who's on the court presence is worth so much more than his stat line. ;-D

To the best of my knowledge it's a 32M base deal with incentives that take it up to 38M. Actually reasonable for a guy you think might be you starting PF and defensive ace of the future. Unlike the DeRozan deal ... :*)

The Derozan deal seems terrible. Like, really, really terrible. I haven't even seen the potential for him to earn half of it.
