So with Harden's trade and Westbrook's poor performance in the San Antonio game, He's become somewhat of a return target for the blogosphere and the analytics community http://wagesofwins.com/2012/10/23/lawson-or-westbrook/ this being just one example and probably the most vociferous group.
The biggest concerns seem to be shot selection, decision making, poor shooting. Generally speaking, he's gotten a little bit of a pass because we know he's playing out of position. And there's the fact that he's point guard on a team that's won quite a few games. When you look at Westbrook do you see a great player on the traditional young player's arc? Or do you see him as someone getting by on his athletic gifts, with the inability to develop his game? Has anyone seen anything in his game that leads them to believe he has the ability to improve his weaknesses? How much do you attribute to the player and how much the coach? Should he still be the PG for this team? If you moved him to SG and he had to play off the ball, could he still be effective? And Fantasywise, if his usage dropped, could he be more efficient or would he lose his overall effectiveness ? Where do you think his value would end up?
Didn't really mean for this to be an all questions post? Would appreciate anybody's thoughts.
