What's up With Anderson's Minutes?

Postby starbuzzhead » Mon Nov 19, 2012 5:21 am

Why isn't Ryan Anderson getting the minutes? He's a great player. Offers a lot to his team. But so frustrating to be hanging on to a player that gets so few minutes! Ugh! And it's a roto league and minutes MATTER! Will he start getting the minutes?

He's producing... I dont see the reason for complaint. He is gonna be coming off the bench most the season unless there is an injury.

It's not a complaint . . . it's just that I'm not too keen on holding on to a player that's going to get around 20min / game. I don't understand why he's not playing 30+ minutes every game with the kind of stats he's putting up.

I may be wrong but its mainly because hes a role player. You don't/wouldn't want a big man sitting out beyond the arc would you? Its all good though, I have him too and I feel your pain but the NBA doesn't play by fantasy value haha :-D

Yes, but the thing is, when he gets minutes, he gets rebounds as well. He's not just a one-trick pony.

I know what you mean, he gets 3's and he rebounds and when he gets the minutes he gets the extra boards as well. My argument isn't that he's a one trick pony, but instead someone who is known for the 3 and will sit at the arc more often than sit under the rim. One thing I did notice in his play style is that the rebounds he would get (not all but a good chunk) are his own rebounds from the 3. This is only a slight observation through a small sample of games.

I would imagine because he plays the same position as Anthony Davis...?

On a side note - I'm happy Aminu is playing so well (as in way above his ADP). He was one of the sleepers I recommended and targeted.

I think Anderson plays small forward behind Aminu actually.

Nope, he's mainly the backup to Davis at PF.
