Squeaking under the season cutoff with:

Waive Kendall Marshall (1.5, TO 2.0). If I am thinking correctly, this should cost me 75% * 1.5 = 1.125 = 1.13 (since we round 0.005 up) for this year only. Next year he shouldn't cost me anything since he is TO. If I've gotten anything wrong here (mostly that I do need to buyout the TO, which I don't think I should have to), I'd want to take the full cost on this year.

That should put me at the in-season-allowed 15 players.

Thanks!

Not sure about the TO in this case, but under normal waiver rules, it should be 75% for this season, and 50% for next season. So your contract drop should cost you 1.13M for this year and 1M for next.

I see where your thinking lies, since the next year is a team option (as opposed to being "buyout eligible"), that it may not count. But, to the best of my knowledge, it counts as part of the drop. My guess is you would have to be in THAT year of the contract to take the Team Option...otherwise, it counts as a regular year. I could be wrong on that or misinterpreting the rule though.

And the in-season max player roster is 16, not 15, but you're there with the drop, so no worries! ;-D

Sorry, 16 players.

Understand the lack of clarity on the TO. I think I can waive the TO year at 0 cost, but will wait for official confirmation. It is definitely a bit ambiguous. To me this is the most logical interpretation as well as the most consistent with how the NBA works.

That said, I will drop him either way. If I do have to take the 50% of 2.0, I want to do a "buyout" so the whole 1.13 + 1 = 2.13 is incurred this year. I'm pretty confident under the rules I am allowed to do that.

Thanks!

I'm not 100% with it right now, but I'm fairly certain other managers have already done what Da Ruhl is talking about. So I think it's all good.

If you waive them before the TO year, you are effectively denying the team option, so it is free.

Cool. So on the combined scully/dasein affirmation, final transaction is:

Waive Kendall Marshall (1.5, TO 2.0). Cost to me 75% * 1.5 = 1.125 = 1.13 on 2013-2014 season cap. No cost for declining TO year.

Thanks!

Also declining the team option on Jae Crowder, so dropping him from my roster at no cost.

This was a little ways back, and the Crowder drop never took as he was still on my roster. Just dropped him in yahoo so should be good hopefully.
