Specific to fantasy basketball:
I find that in Roto, against really good managers, once you miss out on player that benefits from an injury, or you yourself face an unexpected injury or you've made the wrong "sleeper" decision, you're pretty much out of the running.
I find Roto basketball in Yahoo Public leagues to be quite fun. I don't have to check my lineup every single day and be "on call" 24 hours a day to snipe a player before everyone else. And if I make the wrong sleeper pick, there's a change I can still get one on the WW.
Specific to Roto, I think a sport like Baseball is a little different. There's a larger player base and your potential for "getting back into it" is greater...even against really good managers.
If I'm playing against really good managers in fantasy basketball, I prefer H2H. It gives me a better chance to adjust and implement a different strategy if what I initially planned isn't working. (and this is hard for me to say because I've always considered myself a "Roto" guy).
