Should I take a chance and add Keneth Faried from FA?

Postby ATCNYK89 » Mon Jan 06, 2014 2:24 pm

It's a 10 team Scoring type is H2H in "most" categories according to ESPN.

My Roster:
Teague
Batum
Boozer
Hawes
Lance Stephenson
Jimmy Butler
Milsap
James Harden
Gortat
Marion
Michael Carter Williams
Reggie Jackson
Kendall Marshall (Just added yesterday dropped Nene)

Record 4-3-3 (5th) Once Lopez went down I dropped from 3rd to 5th %-6

Season stats: Subject to have changed past
Steals: 3rd
FG%: 4th
FT%: 5th
Blks: 3rd
Points: 6th (Thanks Brook Lopez)
3pts: 9th
Asts: 2nd
Rebs: 4th
FT%: 8th

From what I've read he's fallen out of Shaw's rotation causing serious drop in value. However last night he got 17pts 13 rebs 1ast 2stls... Should I waive Kendall Marshall for him? I already have Reggie Jackson who will maintain value all year as a reserve/starter. The Manimal can fill the stat sheet when giving normal minutes so should I take a flier and jump on this immediately!? Please help ASAP! thanks ;-D

I would rather you got Terrance Jones and not Faried.

I could see going for Faried over Butler, but only if the waiver wire is robust and you could stand losing Butler.

But I want you to repeat after me: "Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper, Kendell Marshall is not a dropper...."

I mean really, how many assists per game does he need to get to finally impress you? :-D

KM has 5 starts this season. Here are his numbers:

13.6 points, 2.0 threes, 4.8 rebounds, 11.2 assists and 3.6 turnovers

That's pretty awesome.

I lol'd man hahaha thanks for the responses! My assists were top 3-4 before adding him. So I wasn't in much need of that stat. However Mike D'antoni's fast paced system does wonders for guys who are agressive offensively and have the ability to pass. I only considered dropping him cause I figured upon Blake/Farmar's return he'll go back to the bench. Faried was claimed already, so there's Jones Wilson Chandler Nene Felton & Ersan available...

Half the battle of fantasy hoops is opportunity though: I really can't see even as erratic a coach as D'Antoni sitting him now for Farmar and Blake. I hope.

Butler's the weakish link on your team, and that's a good spot for you to be in. I think you could have taken Faried over him, esp. so hearing that there are other credible options on the wire in case Faried's recent burst is just ephemeral. I think if you spot someone like Faried or Butler himself come available while they're on a good run, you can pounce. Your league sounds shallow enough for this sort of a play.
